“It was a really special day – the park was really buzzing and of course the sunshine was very welcome,” said Park View trustee chairman Richard Norman.

“With the hard work of the volunteers, trustees and park staff we have put on one of the most successful days we have ever had, with people travelling from all over the North West to take part.

Students from AKS volunteered to support the many stalls and activities and local businesses supported the event with ‘pop up’ stalls offering a range of services.

Local resident Kerry Grimshaw, who attended the event, said: “It was especially nice to see my grandchildren taking part in such a range of superb activities – a coconut shy, tin can alley as well as donkey rides.

“They especially liked the fun educational activities which were going on throughout the day as well as the story time in the big tent.”
