IN PICTURES: Guy’s Oyster Festival
Guy’s Thatched Hamlet in Bilsborrow held its 24th annual Guy’s Oyster Festival over the weekend.
More than 7,000 local and international visitors attended over the course of the weekend, and a seafood luncheon was held in the festival marquee seeing more than 7,000 oysters eaten by more than 1,000 diners on the first day alone.

Hide AdFollowed by live music, dancing and plenty of Guinness being consumed, it was the perfect start to the weekend’s festivities.
Saturday saw a traditional Irish jig event take place with around 2,000 people attending.
The strictly over 18s event was held in the festival marquee with attendees tucking into an Irish stew supper.
And on Sunday, the hamlet hosted a jamboree with things to do for all the family.

Hide AdIrish band Murphy’s Law from Cork, Ireland, performed throughout the afternoon to accompany a host of free activities.
Blackpool’s Thomas Bounce and his circus skills school enthralled children of all ages and The Living Jungle Mobile Zoo brought animals along including spiders, snakes, lizards and cockroaches.
There were also giant inflatables, fairground rides, Punch and Judy and much more.
