JENNY Eclair is returning home to top the bill at Lowther Pavilion.

The Lytham-raised comedienne will headline at the venue on Friday, February 8 as part of her current Eclairious tour.

Lowther officials see the signing as another major comedy coup following the announcement last month that Jason Manford is to star at the Lytham theatre in June.

Manford’s show sold out in three hours and the Lowther’s acting manager Tim Lince is expecting more heavy demand when the Eclair tickets go on sale on Monday at 10am.

“We are delighted that Jenny is coming to the Lowther and we are sure she will prove a popular attraction,” he said.

Jenny, 52, spent half her childhood in Lytham and stays the night with her family, who still live locally, when touring the North West.

She was born Jenny Clare Hargreaves and is a former pupil of the former Queen Mary School, now part of AKS in St Annes. She later studied at the Manchester Polytechnic School of Theatre before embarking on a career in showbusiness. She returned to her old school last year to present prizes.

Jenny has appeared on BBC Two’s Grumpy Old Women, various spin-off shows and a national stage tour.

She was part of the 2010 series of I’m a Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here!, finishing in third place behind Stacey Solomon and Shaun Ryder, has served as a panelist on ITV1’s Loose Women and earlier this year made a guest appearance on BBC’s TV’s The Apprentice: You’re Fired!

She now lives in Camberwell but has said in an interview: “I’m a really big fan of Lytham St Annes.”
