Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner Clive Grunshaw is taking a period of rest following a short stay in hospital, his office have confirmed.
The news was confirmed to the Post this afternoon.
A spokesperson from the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Lancashire said: "We can confirm the Commissioner has had a recent, short stay in hospital and will resume his role following a period of rest and planned leave."
