You shall go to the ball - with many more people besides!
Advance ticket sales for the pantomime at Lowther Pavilion are 63 per cent up on the same stage last year.
Cinderella will be staged at the Lytham venue for three weeks from December 10 by Polka Dot Pantomimes, who made their Lowther debut last year with a staging oif Aladdin and His Magic Lamp.
Lowther general manager Roger McCann said: “I think the increase in sales is largely to do with the success of last year.
“The feedback from audiences was magnificent so it’s bound to give a boost to the following year. Add to that the fact that Cinderella is always the most popular pantomime and you’ve got a sure-fire winner – but even I’m surprised at just how much bigger it is. It’s going to be a bumper Christmas. Audiences can still look forward to dazzling costumes, fabulous scenery, some truly magical surprises - and Cinderella will be escorted to the ball by real Shetland ponies!”
The 28-show run of Cinderella will include two ‘relaxed’ performances, being introduced for the first time, and two signed stagings, one more than last year.
The relaxed shows, featuring subdued sound and lighting, designed to reduce anxiety or stress, will be on Friday, December 11 at 11am and Tuesday, December 22 at 6.15pm, while the shows signed for the hard of hearing are on Tuesday, December 15 at 1pm and Wednesday, December 23 at 6.15pm.
Roger said: “Many families with autistic children, those with sensory and communication needs and/or a learning disability are reluctant to attend public theatre performances and relaxed performances are a fantastic way to offer the chance to experience theatre together.
