Man in '˜serious' condition after being hit by car
Police are investigating the collision, which left the 59-year-old victim with leg injuries and several fractures. He remains in a ‘serious but stable’ condition in hospital, police said.
A black Fiat Punto came off the road as it travelled along Tithebarn Street, in Poulton, close to the junction with Berrys Lane, at around 4.35pm on Saturday.

Hide AdA 27-year-old man from Poulton has been arrested on suspicion of drink driving and dangerous driving.
Police are now appealing for two people who were at the scene, including a nurse who treated the victim, to come forward.
Sgt Nigel Ralphson, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “I’d urge anyone that saw the black Fiat Punto in the area around the time of the collision to get in touch as soon as possible to help us establish how the collision occurred.
“We would also like to speak to a woman who was at the scene immediately after the collision and tended to the casualty. She identified herself as a nurse.

The 27-year-old has been bailed by police until March 7 while investigations continue. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call police on 101.
