MP’s bid for fishing community funding
Fleetwood MP Cat Smith is to ask for more community cash from the developers of the Walney Windfarm.
Following a series of meetings in the town – dubbed ‘Chats with Cat – the Labour parliamentarian said she would ask the operators to target Fleetwood’s fishing community with its community funding programme.
She added: “I was really pleased so many people attended my first ‘Chats with Cat’ events, one on energy, fracking, gas storage and barrages, and one on fishing industry problems and looking to the future.
“I was joined by Barry Gardiner, shadow minister for fishing at the meetings, and he found the events useful for his work too.’
