A new Fylde coast supermarket will create 19 new jobs when it opens later this month.
More than £500,000 has been spent converting the former Booths store in Woodlands Road into a Co-operative Food outlet.
Comedian Bobby Ball and children from Ansdell Primary School will be joined by Lytham and St Annes town crier Colin Ballard at the opening ceremony on Thursday, October 22.
It is also pioneering a new staff role, known as a Community Pioneer, where a member of the food store team will work to foster involvement in community activities, from local fund-raising initiatives to helping to understand and develop ideas to meet community needs.
Lee Thomas, manager of the new store, said: “We are thrilled to be opening in Ansdell, and delighted that we have a fantastic new food store with which to serve the community – it is an exciting time for the whole team.
“The Co-operative is a community retailer, and we are committed to playing an active role in local life, embracing the area’s community spirit.”
Booths, which recently opened a new superstore at nearby Heyhouses Lane, St Annes, has let out the Woodlands Road premises to the Co-op on a 15-year lease.
