The “dilapidated” Breck Club, in Breck Road, Poulton, is set to be demolished.
The building, beside the train station and once home to the social club, was said to be “in a poor state of repair and unsuitable for adaptation,” Wyre Council papers said.
The site is “intended to be redeveloped for residential use,” they added.
The building is not listed but does fall in the Poulton-le-Fylde Conservation area.
Christine Storey, the town’s historical and civic society secretary, said it had “no objections to the demolition of the building, which is in a dilapidated state.”
She added that, because of the location, the “replacement buildings will be of great importance, and we look forward to seeing the proposals in due course.”
The approved demo bid was lodged by James Carter Homes Ltd.
