Blackpool’s town crier Barry McQueen joined in the clap at 8pm by playing his trumpet and ringing his bell while wearing his full crier uniform.
Barry, who has been the resort’s town crier for 20 years, said: “It all started a few weeks ago when I came out and started clapping and then thought I’m going to get my bell and trumpet and I have done it each week since then.
