The grant, awarded by the Lancashire COVID-19 Community Support Fund, was given to the Friends of East Pines Park to support residents in Anchorsholme and Cleveleys who have struggled or lost a loved one as a result of the coronavirus crisis.

The park's Green Team volunteers, who have been isolating since the virus hit, will buy pots, flowers and compost with the money to create 'pots of hope' for anyone in need.

The 'pots of hope,' put together by kind-hearted Green Team volunteers as part of a scheme by the Friends of East Pines Park, will bring some comfort to FY5 residents who have suffered a loss at the hands of Covid-19.The 'pots of hope,' put together by kind-hearted Green Team volunteers as part of a scheme by the Friends of East Pines Park, will bring some comfort to FY5 residents who have suffered a loss at the hands of Covid-19.

"The Green Team members are some of nicest, kindest people in Blackpool. This scheme will allow them to contribute to the well-being of the community, and make a good number of people who have had a tough time feel a bit better about life, knowing their park family care."

The Friends group has already received a large number of requests for a pot, and have 15 left to donate.
