The schedule of activities for employees also included massage, Pilates, and singing.

Sarah Houseman, senior human resources advisor at Ribby Hall, said: “The Employee Wellness Day was initiated to encourage employees to make subtle lifestyle changes, by placing a focus on healthier lifestyle choices.

“Employees could choose to participate in a range of activities devoted to health and wellbeing, including sessions like laughter therapy – laughter helps to lift spirits and the laughter therapy sessions aim to use the natural physiological process of laughter to help relieve physical and emotional stresses.

“Other activities, like hand massage and hypnotherapy encouraged employees to take some time out from their desks.

“The ethos behind the Employee Wellness Day at Ribby Hall Village is to encourage employees to live a life with wellness at its core – if employees can take some time out to replenish, renew and refresh, then we create a more focused and energised workplace.

“Staff enjoyed the opportunity to take some time out from their normal working day to focus on wellness.

“From an employee perspective, it was a good exercise to get different areas of the business together under non-working conditions.

“The day certainly helped boost staff morale and hopefully has encouraged participants to look at work/life balance and be more mindful of their health and wellbeing.

“At Ribby Hall Village we pride ourselves on our staff – they are the key to our business, so exercises like the Employee Wellness Day enable us to give something back to employees.”
