Friends Michelle Clarke, Diane Ireland and Grace Hall, all residents of Newton with Scales, raised £6,145 in a food hamper campaign.
The trio handed out hampers to 100 local families over Christmas – and now they’re back with an Easter campaign.

Hide AdMichelle said: “We have identified another 100 families in need and more amazing suppliers giving us food at heavily discounted rates.
“We have also been regularly feeding families since Christmas with fresh meat and vegetables with money we had left over from the Christmas fund-raise – not a penny has gone to waste.
“We’ve spent about £1,250 in total on weekly rations where we know families are desperate and can’t get the help they need and are sadly facing the stark choice of either buying food or
paying to heat their home.”
The trio are aiming to raise £3,500 for the Easter hampers by March 28 so they can send the food out on March 31.

Hide AdMichelle added: “We need to raise the money by March 28, so we can guarantee placing the 100 food orders with local suppliers, at the discounted rates.
“We would be so grateful for any offer of support towards this project as we already have a growing list of names of families in need from our work at Christmas time and we know by
Easter the list will be even longer.
“We are aware of many locally already here who can barely afford to feed their families day to day.”
Each hamper will contain £35 worth of food to feed a family of four to six.
