Sports journalism course leader Steve, originally from Manchester, has been writing songs through lockdown, The Dominic Cummings ditty is the 51st in his catalogue, which also includes a song "Anything but Wilfred" after the birth of Prime Minister Boris Johnson's new son.

Steve said: "I love music, I like to play guitar, I've been playing for 20 years. During lockdown it was my aim for a song a night.

"It wasn't, isn't meant to be political - it's just topical, a subject that made a good little ditty, while I was sat watching Paw Patrol with my little lad actually.

"I didn't even think it was that good, I don't think many of my songs are but hopefully they give a few people a laugh.
