Sight loss won’t hold back Jeff on epic journey
and live on Freeview channel 276
Jeff Crozier, 83, is registered as partially sighted and has had four knee replacements – but he’s not letting that stop him from taking on a 1,200 km challenge, the equivalent of travelling
from Lands’ End to John O’Groats.
Jeff, from St Annes was left with severe sight loss after having a series of strokes and mini-strokes five years ago.

“I’ve also had four knee replacements .
“The most recent was a unique procedure and I was told by the surgeon I was the first in Europe to have this operation.”
Jeff, who has three sons, five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren, is being supported by his wife, Gwen.
He is raising money for WaterAid, and donations have already surpassed £400.

“I have been amazed by people’s kindness.
“My wife Gwen comes with me. She is wonderful.”
Jeff, who started his challenge on January 3, keeps a careful log of how many miles he clocks up each day and estimates he’ll finish the challenge in August or September.
He walks with sticks on St Annes promenade and around Ashton Gardens, and also uses a treadmill and exercise bike in his lounge.
He added: “I walk and cycle every day. I’m doing about 6.5km a day on average.”
