Fleetwood independent councillor joins Wyre Alliance party
An independent member on Fleetwood Town Council, Coun Brian Crawford (inset), has joined the Wyre Alliance party.
The party was formed earlier this year by Fleetwood’s five Brexit councillors on Wyre Council, who said hey wanted to concentrate moere on local matters now that the Brexit aim of Britain leaving the EU had been achieved.

Hide AdAlliance spokesman, Coun Colette Fairbanks said: “Brian has a wealth of knowledge and experience; he has worked extremely hard on the Fleetwood to Poulton Rail link and sorting toilets out for the Boating Club amongst many other projects and we are thrilled to have him on board.”
Fleetwood-born Coun Crawford, a former Conservative mayor of Millom, Cumbria, said: “The Alliance ticks all my boxes and with them I feel I can achieve more for Fleetwood.”
