Trinity Hospice is set to benefit from a pop-up shop at a major retail centre this weekend.

Freeport Fleetwood will play host to the shop, between the Jeff Banks and Christy stores, which will be selling stock from the charity’s 15 shops across the area.

It will also be taking donations of unwanted Christmas gifts and clothes throughout the two days.

Visitors to the store will also have the opportunity to find out about the work carried out by the charity which touches the lives of 8,000 people every year and other ways in which they can support it.

The first 500 to pledge their support to Trinity’s 2016 fund-raising events in the shop will receive a free re-useable canvas tote bag.

The bags have been specially designed for the partnership and this will be the first time they have been distributed.

Shoppers can pledge their support either by making a financial donation to the hospice to go towards the daily care and nursing services at Brian House, or by signing up for one of the 2016 events such as the Illumathon, Colour Splash or the Santa Dash.

Centre manager John Magee said: “We wanted 2016 to be our year of giving back to the local community and working with Trinity Hospice is the perfect start.

“I have seen first hand the care provided by its team and am keen to see how much money we can raise to support them. You might pick up a bargain and you’ll get to wave goodbye to January on a feel-good high.”

Janet Atkins, corporate and lottery fund-raiser at Trinity Hospice said: “We’re so excited to be working with Freeport Fleetwood throughout 2016.

“When they offered to build us our very own pop-up shop at the centre we jumped at it – customers can come visit us for event and volunteering information, items for sale, sign up for our lottery and much more.”
