Poulton boy, four, seriously injured after collision with van in St Annes

The collision happened on Victoria Road at around 4:10pm on Friday.

Police said the boy, from Poulton, was hit by a Volkswagen Transporter van.

The youngster suffered a serious leg injury and was taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital by air ambulance.

He remains in a serious but stable condition.

Sgt Paul Maguire, from West Tactical Operations, said: “Our thoughts are with the boy and his family at this incredibly distressing time.

"We wish him a speedy recovery in hospital.

“If you think you saw what happened or have any dash cam footage, please contact us as you could have information that is very important to our investigation.”
