Have you got what it takes to appear on the same bill as the likes of Sir Tom Jones or Michael Ball?

Fylde’s Got Talent is back – and the prize for the winner is the opportunity to perform at Lytham Proms Festival.

It has not yet been decided on which of the three nights of the Festival in August the winning act will appear, but Welsh superstar Sir Tom and West End stage favourite Michael are among the headliners this year and acts based in Fylde will be taking to the same stage during the eagerly-anticipated event.

The competition is now in its sixth year and for the last three, a place on the Sunday night bill at the Proms has been the grand prize.

Last year, Hana Joy supported Rita Ora; in 2012, Kurtis Reid was on the same bill as Olly Murs and in 2011, Lucy-Ella Smith was a support act for Boyzone.

This year, the classical night has been switched from Saturday to Sunday, so plans for exactly where to accommodate the Fylde’s Got Talent winner are still being finalised.

But all money raised from the competition will be going to support the Brian House children’s hospice.

A spokesman for Cuffe and Taylor, who organise Fylde’s Got Talent as well as the Proms, said: “We are really proud of how successful this local event has become, It has almost taken on an identity of its own. We are constantly being approached by local talent who wish to enter the competition, as they all want the opportunity to play on a world class stage, alongside their idols.”

The competition is open to all types of performers – singers, dancers, musicians, magicians and comedians, whether soloists, duos, bands or groups.

Closing date for entry is next Monday, March 3, with auditions on Saturday, March 8.
