The Blackpool Music Service Youth Choir which took part in 2012s Children In Need

The nationwide BBC event, on Friday, November 13, will see Sir Terry Wogan, Tess Daly, Fearne Cotton, Rochelle Humes and Nick Grimshaw host the TV extravaganza.

They will be joined by 1,000 school children from across the UK for a beautiful live performance.

This will be the fifth year that the Children’s Choir perform on BBC Children in Need and is highly regarded as one of the stand out moments of the show. More than 1,000 children across six different locations will come together to sing ‘The Climb’ by Miley Cyrus.

One of those locations is Blackpool Tower where more than 300 children from 14 schools in the north west will perform in the choir.

Each school has already started rehearsals and have even taking part in workshops with the choirmaster from Chant Productions, all ready for their live performance on the BBC Children in Need Appeal Show.

BBC Children in Need currently funds 48 projects across Lancashire with funding of nearly £3m – and eight of those projects are in Blackpool.

Supporting the Charity this year would help fund more projects just like Fylde Sharks Disability Swimming Club which runs one-to-one swimming sessions for children and young people with disabilities. The sessions help to develop social skills, improve confidence and reduce social isolation by bringing disabled young people and their families together in the community.
