Queen Hannah's express delivery from royal male

Hot on the heels of a reply from Buckingham Palace after Hannah wrote to The Queen about her spell as Carnival Queen, as we reported last week, 11-year-old Hannah has received a letter in response to a similar message she sent to Prince William – and it includes best wishes for her fund-raising exploits in aid of the North West Air Ambulance.

The NWAA is this year’s St Annes Carnival charity and the latest event to raise cash is tomorrow when Hannah and her 364 fellow pupils at Mayfield Primary School dress in yellow in exchange for making a donation to the cause.

The aim of the ‘Yellow Day’ is to raise awareness of the yellow Air Ambulance and Mayfield headteacher Suzanne Fish said: “Everyone is very much looking forward to the day.”

Hannah opted to write to Prince William as has been involved in Air Ambulance piloting duty himself in East Anglia and the reply received from a member of the Royal staff describes the cause as being ‘close to his heart’.

The reply to Rachel, from Claudia Spens in the Office of HRH The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and HRH Prince Henry of Wales at Kensington Palace said:

“The Duke of Cambridge has asked me to write to you and thank you for your card received at Clarence House, in which you kindly enclosed two newspaper articles on your fundraising efforts as St Annes Carnival Queen.

“His Royal Highness was most interested to learn about your activities to raise funds for the North West Air Ambulance, a cause close to his heart.

“It was kind of you to take the time to write to The Duke as you did, but I regret that it will not be possible for him to reply personally.

“As I am sure you will appreciate, His Royal Highness receives a tremendous number of letters from all over the world and while he values the kind thoughts and good wishes of so many people, the sheer volume precludes personal replies.

“However, I am taking this opportunity to enclose a photograph of Their Royal Highnesses taken at Princess Charlotte’s Christening held on July 5, 2015 at St Mary Magdelene Church on The Queen’s Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

“This comes with The Duke’s warmest thanks for writing and very best wishes for the success on your outstanding fund-raising endeavours.”

Hannah said: “I was thrilled to receive the letter. It’s a really nice photo of the christening that they sent me. I am now thinking about who I can write to next!”
