Queen's 90th is celebrated by schoolchildren
Every child who attends the Staining CE Primary School will receive a medallion on April 21 in commemoration of Queen Elizabeth II’s 90th birthday.
The Parish Council took the decision to award the 232 young students at the school with a permanent reminder of the Queen’s special day in the hope that they would be inspired to learn more about the history of the British monarchy and how it has shaped their lives.

Coun Keith Shuck, chairman of Staining Parish Council, will present the medals to Staining Church of England Primary School headteacher Ann Griffiths later this month.
He said: “It is good the council supports the village school as headteacher Ann does a marvelous job.”
