The annual celebration of the Commonwealth of Nations, which took place on Monday, sees people across 53 Commonwealth nations come together to support a cause chosen by the Queen – this year’s message calling for people to support those in need around the world.

The children were joined by Councillor Keith Shuck, chairman of Staining Parish Council, and Fylde Coun John Singleton, and Staining Rev Peter Lillicrap, who announced the Commonwealth affirmation.

Coun Singleton said: “Commonwealth day is an important date to remember especially for our younger residents.”
