School's right Royal celebrations
Characters ranged from William Shakespeare to David Beckham, Margaret Thatcher to Beth Tweddle and teacher Victoria Eaves said: “It was lovely to hear the children explaining who they were dressed as.
“They had done their research and learned why the person they were portraying was famous.”

Hide AdLessons throughout the morning covered a variety of patriotic themes including the Royal Family, the Commonwealth, The Queen, her coronation and her work and service, while later, pupils, staff, parents, grandparents and governors were invited for a street party lunch, which was held in the sunshine on the school field and playground.
The children were then entertained with traditional magic and Punch and Judy shows and the day ended with the singing of the National Anthem and ‘Happy Birthday’. Chairman of Governors Jim Martin presented pupils with a special coin to commemorate tthe Queen’s 90th Birthday.
Headteacher Rachael Ainsworth added: “Everyone in our church school family enjoyed spending time together celebrating Her Majesty’s birthday. It was a day of discovery for all ages and a fantastic opportunity to make memories that will last a lifetime.”
