The Anatolia Sea View, overlooking St Annes beach, has taken four years to come to fruition for owner Veli Kirk, who has run the popular Anatolia Turkish barbecue eaterie in nearby Park Road for the last eight years.

Veli set his sights of the seafront site, within The Island complex, in 2014, but structural hitches with the property, including the need for a new roof, have held up the project until now.

A hefty six-figure sum has been invested in the 100-cover restaurant which will be open seven days a week.

“It’s the realisation of a dream,” said Veli, who hopes to take on more new staff once the premises are open.

“I love St Annes and the town is really booming, with the number of events and visitors increasing all the time. We can’t wait to welcome customers.”

The new restaurant, compete with balcony overlooking the beach, is at least three times the size of the town centre Anatolia, where Veli has often had to turn away potential diners.

“We have been so grateful for everyone’s support and hope they enjoy the new restaurant,” he said.

Selvan Acehan, who previously worked at Blackpool’s Hilton Hotel, has been appointed general manager.

Ahead of its opening at 5pm on Friday, the Anatolia Sea View hosted more than 100 guests for the golden wedding party of St Annes residents John and Dorothy Aitken, who said: “We had a wonderful time.”
