There is another chance this Sunday to take a snowdrop walk in Lytham Hall’s grounds.

After initially announcing that last weekend would be the last of the season, Hall officials are opening the gates for one more Sunday.

More than 2,000 walkers have enjoyed the blanket of seasonal snowdrops in the Hall’s picturesque grounds since late January and the Hall’s activity plan officer Marianne Blaauboer is hoping to see many more this weekend.

She said: “Nature doesn’t run according to pre-planned diaries, as we realise time and again. Though some snowdrops were out quite early, other varieties have popped up later.

Combine this with the recent cold snap and it means there is still a brilliant showing of snowdrops – and with the daffodils popping up all over the place, it makes for an excellent springtime outing.”

The Ballam Road gates will open at 10am and close at 4pm.

The tearoom is open, while disabled badge-holders may park near the Hall itself.

Admission is £2.50 for adults, and £1 per child, with a separate charge for tours of the Hall itself.

For more information call the Hall office on (01253) 736652.
