St Annes nursery’s rating is boosted

‘Positive relationships’ between staff and youngsters at a St Annes nursery mean the children are ‘happy, confident, and enjoy their time’ there, Ofsted said.

Inspectors from the education watchdog praised St Thomas After School Club, based at the parish centre in St Thomas Road – and raised its rating from ‘requires improvement’ to ‘good’.

In a report, inspector Ann Flynn said children behave well, and said parents were complimentary about the nursery, saying ‘staff are wonderful and ‘go the extra mile’ to help and support both children and parents’.

Staff were found to have a good understanding of children’s likes and capabilities.
