A charity which recently issued an appeal for cash help is looking for participants for a fund-raising sponsored walk.
Home-Start Fylde, based in St Annes, supports scores of families and is looking to boost its coffers with the stroll around Fairhaven Lake on Friday, June 28.
It’s an evening event, set to start at 6.30pm, and with no age limits, Home-Start co-ordinator Pat Naylor is hoping lots of families will take part.
“Hopefully, the evening timing will appeal and especially if the weather is good, we are hoping for a good turnout,” said Pat.
Changes to the way services such as Home-Start Fylde are funded mean that the charity is facing the prospect of a major financial ‘black hole’ in the coming months.
That will be the case even if a current bid for lottery funding of £300,000 over the next five years is successful, as a substantial time-lag between application and hoped-for approval is likely.
Anyone wanting to take part in the sponsored walk can find out more from Home-Start Fylde on (01253) 728615 or at www.home-start.stthomas.uk.net
