Students raise cash for charity
A fashion show in aid the St Annes Carnival charity for this year, the North West Air Ambulance, raised more than £500.
The event was held at AKS School, whose students, along with members of St Annes Youth Council, took to the catwalk to model clothes.
The garments were provided by Boutique 25, handbags and hats by The Fashion Shop and jewellery by French Design. The evening also included a talk for the audience by Tropic Skin Care about its products.
Preparations are already well under way for this year’s St Annes Charity Carnival on July 9 and 10.
The event will include a presentation to the North West Air Ambulance of various fund-raising events since last summer’s Carnival.
A Carnival committee spokesman said: “St Annes Carnival committee is very grateful to all who attended, and thanks to AKS for the use of the school hall.
“We look forward to AKS school bands performing at this year’s Carnival.”
A procession is held on the Saturday of the carnival weekend, with events and activities in Ashton Gardens on both days.
