The Tiffin Cup sees establishments around the country nominated by their local MPs and Fylde MP Mr Menzies this year put forward Mohshina’s Taste of India on Henry Street, Lytham.

And the popular restaurant was named among the runners up after judges – including TV chef Ainsley Harriott – were impressed with the standard of its cuisine.

Mr Menzies said: “I am really proud of Abul and his team for being awarded runner up in the finals of the Tiffin Cup and I was delighted to be able to present him with his apron and certificate.

“I have visited Mohshina’s on a number of occasions and have always enjoyed the food and the special welcome guests receive from all the staff.

“Having so many excellent restaurants in Fylde makes it difficult to choose who to put forward for this competition each year. Although Mohshina’s may be one of the newer South Asian establishments in Fylde, they have already impressed many food-lovers in the area. For a constituency outside a major city and with a relatively small Asian community, we have always done well in this competition.

“In recent years both the Buraq in Kirkham and the Bilash Balti House in St Annes have been praised by the judges and I am delighted to have been able to keep Fylde’s run of good form going.”
