Teen, 18, accused of attacking girlfriend

A teenager accused of repeatedly assaulting his 19-weeks pregnant girlfriend over three consecutive days has made his first appearance at court.

Daniel Sampson is alleged to have nudged a glass into his partner’s mouth cracking one of her teeth, slapped her face and kicked her legs during attacks.

Sampson, 18, of Lytham Road, South Shore, pleaded not guilty to three offences of assault. The offences are alleged to have taken place on July 25, 26 and 27 this year at the Blackpool flat the couple shared.

Prosecutor, Pam Smith, opposed an application for bail for Sampson by defence lawyer Peter Manning. Sampson was refused bail and remanded in custody towards trial on September 14 by Blackpool Magistrates’ Court.
