There's a farm in our school!
Highfurlong Special School on Blackpool Old Road set up a school farm for the day as part of an initiative aimed at teaching pupils more about animal welfare and agriculture.
The school received a £10,000 grant from the Big Lottery Fund towards the scheme.

“We also had a week-old calf and two lambs.
“It was part of a whole curriculum initiative covering everything from how garments are made out of wool to the care and welfare of the animals.
“Some children had never been so close up to farm animals before and it was wonderful to see their reactions.”
The event was organised with Country Classrooms to bring to life lessons about food and farming.
