A soap favourite and a Pop Idol will be heading the cast of hit musical Rock Of Ages when it comes to Blackpool next year.
The show will be rocking up at the resort’s Opera House from July 2, 2019.
And leading the way will be former Coronation Street actor Kevin Kennedy, who played Curly Watts in the Weatherfield soap, as Dennis.
Since then he’s racked up a host of stage credits in the West End and on UK tours - he was in Blackpool earlier this month as part of the Fat Friends cast.
Previous roles have included Amos in Chicago, Pop in We Will Rock You, The Commitments, The Rocky Horror Show and he was the first actor to play both Caractacus Potts and the Child Catcher in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
Joining him in the role of Justice will be Zoe Birkett, who came to fame in the 2002 series of Pop Idol, in which she was the highest placed female contestant appearing alongside Will Young and Gareth Gates.
Her stage work has included playing Rachel Marron in the UK tour of The Bodyguard The Musical and originating the female lead role in Thriller Live.
Other credits include Priscilla Queen of the Desert, Acid Queen in Tommy and Maureen in Rent.
A spokesman said: “Rock Of Ages is an LA love story lavished with over 25 classic rock anthems.
“Lose yourself in a city and a time where the dreams are as big as the hair, and yes, they can come true.
“This hilarious musical comedy features the songs, including We Built This City, The Final Countdown, Here I Go Again, Can’t Fight this Feeling and I Want To Know What Love Is, played loud and proud by an awesome live band.
“Warning: Contains serious rock ‘n’ roll debauchery!”
Also featured in the cast are Jodie Steele as Sherrie, Luke Walsk as Drew, Lucas Rush as Lonny, Andrew Carthy as Franz, Vas Constanti as Hertz and Rhiannon Chesterman as Regina.
The show is a joint production by Dan Looney, Adam Paulden, Jason Haigh-Ellery, Selladoor Worldwide and Gavin Kalin.
