St Annes’ burgeoning art trail has its biggest feature yet.

The back wall of Cottam and Glaister Optometrists now sports a large mural with a seaside theme after Fylde artist Richard
Marshall, among the instigators of the art trail, was invited to make the most of the space.

Ceri Smith-Jaynes,
optometrist at Cottam and Glaister, said: “We’ve been supportive of the idea of the art trail since its
inception and were happy to have local art put up on our building to showcase the wealth of creative
talent we have here in St Annes.

“Imagine our delight when instead of a few smaller pictures, Richard
Marshall and Elena Radzivilova painted an underwater scene across our back wall and gate.

“It brings a smile to my face as I arrive at work and
patients have been dropping in just to show their appreciation.”

Richard said: “A seaside theme seemed appropriate and something that all ages can enjoy.”

Arnold Sumner, co-ordinator of St Annes Chamber of Trade, said: “The art trail is a great idea which has been attracting a lot of attention.”
