Flames spotted 'coming from the pavement' in Central Drive
Firefighters were called to Central Drive in Blackpool after flames were seen coming from the pavement earlier this afternoon.
When they arrived, they lifted a concrete slab to find smoke coming from electrical cables, a spokesman for the fire service said.
A small number of businesses close to the junction with Chapel Street also had no power, he added.
Firefighters cordoned off a section of pavement while waiting for an electrical engineer to arrive on the scene.
