A major Fylde coast road has been closed after a motorcyclist was been involved in a collision.

The incident happened on the A585 Fleetwood Road at Greenhalgh at around 4.05pm.

Police said the incident, involving a motorbike and a car, had been reported close to the junction with Back Lane.

The motorbike rider is reported to have suffered shoulder injuries in the accident and is being treated on the scene by paramedics.

The A585 is closed at the scene with a diversion in place.

Police are unable to say when the road will fully re-open to traffic.
