Motorcyclist leaves scene of Central Drive crash after suffering ‘serious leg injury’ in Blackpool

A motorcyclist suffered a “serious leg injury” after a crash in Blackpool.

Emergency services were called to reports of a collision in Central Drive at around 1.25pm on Friday (October 28).

It was reported a man on a motorbike had suffered a serious leg injury after he was involved in a collision with a car.

Police said it was believed the rider left the scene in another vehicle before officers arrived.

“Enquiries are ongoing,” a spokesman for Lancashire Police said.

Central Drive was closed in both directions between Waterloo Road and Bloomfield Road following the collision.

Heavy traffic was building in the area as motorists attempted to divert away from the scene.

It was the second collision involving a motorbike that had been reported in the resort on Friday.

The first collision occurred between Shaw Road and Crystal Road, South Shore, at approximately 11am on Friday (October 28).

Police closed the road in both directions as paramedics worked at the scene.
