A teenager has died following a serious collision in St Annes.
The incident happened at 10.55pm on Sunday at the junction with Clifton Drive South and St Annes Road West.
Police said the 18-year-old man had run into the path of a Vauxhall Astra.
He suffered significant head injuries and was taken by ambulance to the Royal Preston Hospital where he died at lunchtime today.
The man’s family are being supported by specially trained officers.
The 18-year-old, from St Annes, has not been named.
Road Policing Sergeant, Adam Dawson said: “This is an extremely sad incident where a young man has lost his life and our thoughts remain with his family and friends at this extremely sad and difficult time.
“The driver is assisting us with our enquiries and we are not seeking anyone else in connection with this.
“If you saw the collision or have any information that could assist us with our investigation, please get in touch with us.”
The driver of the Astra was treated at the scene for shock.
No arrests have been made.
