Travellers have moved onto playing fields in St Annes.
The group arrived at the Blackpool Road Recreation Ground, in Blackpool Road North on Sunday night.
Around six caravans have been parked on the land with several cars.
Dogs are also reported to be running loose.
Officers from Fylde Council visited the site this morning.
The Gazette understands they served the travellers with legal notice to leave as well as checking on their welfare.
A spokesman for Fylde Council said: “The council were made aware of the travellers at 10pm on Sunday evening, a welfare assessment has been completed first thing this morning and each caravan will be issued with a notice to leave and a request to attend court at 2pm today for formal proceedings to clear the site.”
