Staff at Star Trek: The Exhibition on the Promenade are challenging people to come up with five-line poems, based on the space series.

A spokesman said: “Children and adults alike are asked to devise their own poetic five-liners that reference someone or something from the Star Trek TV series or Star Trek movies.

“What they come up with could be taken from The Original Series, starring William Shatner as Captain Kirk, or just as easily from The New Generation output or later.

“The limerick could go on to include other references to Star Trek, or could just be a fun and imaginative rhyme that defies the logic Vulcans like Mr Spock cherished.”

To enter the contest, people should email their suggestion to admin@star trekblackpool.co.uk by May 31. All limericks will then be judged and three winners will be awarded family tickets to the attraction.

Great limericks will be posted on Facebook and the best will be displayed at the attraction.
