From Lytham to Las Vegas - and a dream come true.
Lowther Pavilion trustee Dan Creasey has recently returned from Nevada’s desert resort after being invited to light a show for an act which has twice wowed Lytham audiences.
I’m really proud
Dan, 31, a former technical manager at Lowther who now runs his own lighting design business, first met Tenors of Rock when he hit their Festival show on the Lytham Green main stage in 2014 and at Lowther the following year.
More than 12 month on, Dan heard through Festival co-promoter Peter Taylor that the Tenors were interested in him lighting their show at Harrahs Casino on the Las Vegas ‘Strip’ - and out he flew to take care of it.
Dan said: “I’m really proud. To my knowledge, I’m the only lighting designer from this part of the world who has gone over to light a show on the Strip and only one of three British lighting designers to ever have a show there.
“I’m proud to be following in the footsteps of Andy Walmsley, who was brought up in Blackpool and designed the sets for shows such as American Idol and Who Wants to be a Millionaire and who now lives in Las Vegas.”
