Winners mum nominates daughter for a new look

No-one was more surprised than Lytham mum, Nicola Aris, when she learned she'd won a hair make-over competition run by The Express and No 4 The Salon '“ because she hadn't even entered.

Her mum, Jeanette Jones, who lives in Lytham with husband, Bob, had nominated Nicola in her entry.

Jeanette explained: “Our daughter works her socks off as a single mum with two young children, is a full-time primary school teacher and is studying for a Master’s degree to further her career and make the best possible life for her youngsters.

“She deserves a treat and a boost.”

Nicola, 37, will receive hair styling and treatments for the value of £250 at No 4 The Salon, Lytham.

Mum of Daniel, eight, who attends Lytham Hall Park Primary School, and Lucy, three, she said: “I had absolutely no idea that mum was entering me and so it was a real surprise.”

Debbie Wilkinson, proprietor of No 4 The Salon, Pleasant Street, described the Nicola make-over as ‘a work in progress’.

“We’re going to improve the condition and grow the layers, working towards an inverted bob withrich colours.”

Nicola added: “I’m not your typical girlie girl so it will be nice to go regularly and have my haircut and things and to make some positive changes.”
