X Factor singer Chloe is going up in the world
A teenage X Factor contestant will showcase her talents with the return of Blackpool Tower's Skywalk Sunset Sessions.
Chloe Rose Moyle was seen singing and playing the guitar on last year’s The X Factor, winning praise from the judges for her own compositions.
And next Friday, the 17-year-old from Fleetwood will kick off a month-long residency at the coast’s famous landmark, next Friday, August 3 - and she’ll be following in some prestigious footsteps.
In 2013 and 2014, local lad-turned-superstar DJ Danny Howard played at the top of the Tower for the first Sunset Sessions, a feat another local music star John Robb replicated with his band The Membranes in 2014.
She said: “I love The Blackpool Tower, it’s where I spent many happy days when I was younger so to perform there is a dream come true for me.
“The Skywalk Sunset Sessions are an excellent idea and I’m looking forward to hearing more music from the top of The Tower.”
Chloe, who will also play on August 4, 11, 18 and 25, won over judges Simon Cowell, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh in last year’s series.
After singing her original song Holding On, former Pussycat Doll Nicole told Chloe: “You’re special”, and music mogul Simon said she had a “charming confidence”.
Chloe’s influences are US singer and actress Ariana Grande, pop royalty Christina Aguilera and Christian singers Tauren Wells and Cory Asbury.
“Being on the X Factor was an amazing experience and I’m so proud I progressed as far as I did,” she said.
“Working with the judges and performing my own songs was incredible. It’s given me the confidence to pursue a career in music.”
Chloe will be performing at the Sunset Sessions on 3rd, 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th August from 6pm.
Also taking to the stage at 380-feet above the sea will be Heather Roberts, who is better known as Red - and will be going up in the world, from her usual spot as an actor at Blackpool Tower Dungeon tonight and tomorrow, and on August 10, 17 and 24.
The 380ft high attraction has a Skywalk, a five centimetre thick viewing platform, where daredevils can step out onto a transparent floor and look out onto the Irish Sea above Blackpool’s famous promenade, and a bar serving cool drinks for the summer.
The Blackpool Tower Eye Tickets are available online at www.theblackpooltower.com or can be purchased on the door at admissions.
