Blackpool and District Youth League round-up: Title for AFC Blackpool

AFC Blackpool Under-16s became the first champions crowned this season in the Gold Bond Blackpool and District Youth Football League when their 14-0 win over Warton Typhoons sealed the Beta division title.

Hat-tricks from Kieran Whitehouse and Callum Gellatly, braces from Rylan and Lee Casey and further goals from Daniel Carr, Josh Taylor, Cameron Smith and Corey Parker fired them to victory and up to the Alpha league.

Their title was confirmed with St Annes’ 4-2 win against second-placed Lytham Jaguars , Van Wyk(2), Bradley and Shaw scoring for St Annes, and Sam Oldfield and Ben Davies for Jags.

Two goals from Andy Drake saw Clifton draw 2-2 with Staining, with James Healey grabbing both their goals.

YMCA stay top of the Alpha league thanks to a 1-0 win at double-chasing Thornton.

YMCA’s Jack Bishop fed Isaac Eastham, whose powerful shot forced a fine save from the Thornton keeper.

Eastham then set up Jack Bishop to score at the second attempt to give YM the lead.

Defences remained for the rest of the first half but YMCA started the second half brightly, with Pat Lonsdale and Eastham both testing the Thornton keeper.

The home side pressed for the equaliser and Billy Crellin turned a shot on to the post.

YM finished the match strongly and ground out the win, Thornton completing the game with 10 men after a late red card.

Foxhall remain two points and a game behind YMCA after four goals from Connor Finlayson helped them to a 7-0 win at Layton Blues (see previous pages). Steven Hodgkinson(2) and Oli Muir were also on target.

A hat-trick each for Will Brown and Jacob Cheeseman gave Blackpool Rangers a 6-2 win at BJFF Vipers, with Berresford scoring both replies.

Another hat trick hero was Matthew Crooks of Poulton in their 4-1 win at Wyre. Connor Houghton scored the other and Alex Howarth the consolation.

In the Under-18 league, Spirit of Youth Yellows are now five points clear after their convincing 7-1 win at AFC Blackpool.

Sam Kowalski’s effort from the edge of the box got the scoring under way before Jordan Parker picked up a ball with his back to goal 25 yards out, turned the defender and broke away to score to double the lead.

It was soon three when Connor Dunleavy showed some determination to win the ball and fire home.

Kyle Hodkinson scored the fourth after some brilliant wing play and Alex Footman made it five quickly after.

Spirit were awarded a penalty which man of the match Andy Holdoway converted to make it 6-0.

Spirit probably saved the goal of the game until the end, when Kyle Hodkinson chipped the AFC keeper from 30 yards out. AFC scored a late consolation through Will Smith.

Alex Varley fired a hat-trick in St Annes’ 9-1 (Jordan Kilgallon 2, Oli Pitt, Reece Rodgers, Matty Rhodes, og) victory over Warton Typhoons (Joseph Holmes).

The big winners in the Under-12 league were BJFF Blades without kicking a ball because the second and third-placed teams, Poulton and Layton, played out a goalless stalemate.

Connor Satchel’s hat trick sealed Foxhall’s 3-1 win at Thornton Cleveleys Whites, for whom Harvey Hampton scored.

Squires Gate made their title intentions clear with a stunning 18-0 win against Fleetwood Gym thanks to Brolan Grundy scoring five and Ethan Goulding four.

Lucas Miller add three more goals and other scorers were Joshua Dolby-Armstrong (2), Nathan Nicholas (2), Connah Trevellyan and Jack Robinson.

BJFF Blades remain top after a brace each for Owen Mason, James-Lee Robinson and Daniel Smith gave them a 6-1 win against Lytham Juniors, for whom Max Wiggans scored.

Foxhall stay second as Rio Louth (2), Jacob Stone-Grice, Alex Derbyshire, Alex Mullen, Robbie Fitzpatrick and Leo Walker contributed to a 7-1 win against St Annes, Ilya Kosogorin replying.

Liam Skillbeck scored for BJFF Vipers, though an own goal earned Clifton a 1-1 draw.

There were four goals from Lewis Dyson and a hat-trick for Benjamin Rukin in Foxhall Hoops’ fantastic 12-1 win against Blackpool Rangers. Joshua Stanley (2) , Kaiden Shorrocks (2) and George Davies completed the scoring, while Marcus Masterson replied.

Jamie Elliott scored four as Poulton won 6-1 at Thornton Cleveleys Blues, Charlie Clark and Harrison Bailey also on target and Patryk Popielarski responding for Blues.

Jamal Miller’s hat trick and a Lee McEwan strike gave BJFF Blues a 4-1 win against third-placed Kirkham, for whom Oli Martin replied.

Foxhall stay top from a more games after Harrison Stott ‘s hat- trick and a Sam Breeze brace gave them a 5-0 win at BJFF Whites.

Dylan Williams scored a massive seven goals in Warton Typhoons’ 14-0 win against Layton Clarets, Paul Cain adding a hat-trick.

Als on target were Jack Brett(2), William Cocks and Ashley Donald.

Typhoons’ Blues team also had a great day as five Chris Wilkinson strkes, plus pairs by Korben Robinson and Lawrence Chiwanda, and a Jay Modie strike sealed a 10-0 win at South Shore.

Layton Blues (TJ Wright, Cameron Richards) drew 2-2 with Lytham Juniors (Oli Lamb, Ellis Maudsley).

Kirkham Blue’s unbeaten season continued in the Under-15 alpha division as hat-tricks by Joe Newell and Jaay Marolia, together with strikes from Cian Menzies (2) and Chris Bridges sealed a 9-0 win against Poulton.

Clifton stay second after beating BJFF Blades 4-1 with goals from Theo Ioannou (2), Dylan Webbe and Kieron Bell. Gibbons netted the consolation.

Result of the day was bottom side Fleetwood Town’s stunning 7-2 win at third-placed St Annew, where Ewan Ritson scored a hat-trick and Town’s other goals came courtesy of Michael Thwaite s(2), Sheldon Green and Stephen Abbott. Scorers for Harrogate were Nathan Tolley and Robert Flanagan.

Ronan Barratt (2) and Joshua Smyth sealed South Shore’s a 3-0 win against Poulton Town.

Kirkham Reds missed the chance to go top of the Under-15 Beta league after being held at Fleetwood Gym, where Josh Marshall, Tom Edwards and Will Critchley scored for the Reds. Gym’s replies were scored by Josh Coulter, Will Highton and Harry Marham.

Northgate stay third after Leo Woodruff’s hat-trick, a TJ Baxter brace and goals from, Alex Gillespie and Bob Parker gave them an 8-2 win against St Annes Bombers, for whom Nathan Chase and Ben Lomax scored.

Lytham Juniors Home Heat and Blackpool Rangers D12 played out a 1-1 draw, with Sam Mitchell on target for Lytham and Tom Cranshaw for Rangers.

Finally, Layton (Dalton Kellett, Thomas Hanslip) drew 2-2 with Spirit of Youth (Iain Fox 2).
