AFC had been leading the game but three goals in the last 20 minutes brought defeat for Martin Baird’s men.

The visitors had the first chance of the game but AFC had keeper Dan Hall to thank.

At the other end, Joe Robinson sent an effort just wide before some nice football featuring John-Jo Morris and Ben Duffield ended with Billy McKenna firing over.

It was the visitors who opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the 25th minute but AFC quickly responded as Jamie Thomas scored from a corner.

He tried his luck again just before half-time, seeing the visiting keeper off his line, but his shot from halfway fell just wide.

The second half saw Robinson block a clearance, only for the ball to go wide of goal, before the same player half-volleyed off target.

Hall made a save to keep AFC on level terms before Adam Sumner gave them the lead, poking the ball home.

AFC then introduced some of their younger players with Alex McLoughlin and Oli Shepard coming on.

Their lead, though, didn’t last long as Ashton levelled before a quickfire double gave them victory.

AFC Blackpool: Hall, Whitehead, Baldwin, Pickering, Harrison, Sumner, Robinson, Thomas, McKenna, Duffield, Morris. Subs: Buchan, Roberts, Aspinall, McLoughlin, Shepard.
