Gareth Evans insists Fleetwood Town are capable of handing out a thumping as they travel to Peterborough United.

The winger turned attacking central midfielder has been a crucial man for Fleetwood this term.

And he’s convinced a team is soon going to feet Town’s attacking fury.

“We’ve done really well,” said Evans.

it’s just been a case of not putting the ball in the back of the net.

“We don’t think the points we’ve got have reflected the performances.

“We feel we should have more on the board.

“But after the performance against Bristol at the weekend hopefully the drought is over and we can crack on now and score a lot of goals.”

Town’s three-game goal drought ended with last weekend’s 3-3 draw against Bristol City.

Evans hopes the goal glut will inspire Town to bigger and better things.

“I don’t think the lads have looked too much into it, into the lack of goals,” he said.

“It’s just been a case of doing what we’re doing and it will come good.

“We feel we’re not far off really stuffing someone.

“In the last few weeks we’ve been close to scoring three four or five in a game.

“Hopefully last week is the start of it.”
