According to The Sun, Liverpool will entrust Critchley with the development of defender Adam Lewis.

Critchley, Liverpool's former Under-23 coach, worked closely alongside the 20-year-old during his time at Anfield.

Pool's head coach even handed Lewis his senior debut in February when, in the absence of Jurgen Klopp, he took charge of Liverpool's first team for their FA Cup victory over Shrewsbury Town.

It's claimed Critchley is still held in high regard on Merseyside despite his decision to walk away to join the Seasiders two months ago.

Lewis, who plays at left-back, is ready to get his first regular taste of senior men's football and, once football gets back underway, it's thought Bloomfield Road will be his destination.

Critchley, speaking after the 1-0 victory over Shrewsbury in February, sung the praises of the highly-rated defender.

“I’m delighted for Adam because he’s someone that, from a personal point of view, I really like,” Critchley told Liverpool's website.

“We have shared quite a bit over the last few years.

"That was a really special moment for Adam and you could see how much it meant. I was so made up for him.”

Lewis has represented England from Under-16 to Under-20 level.

Blackpool are already well stocked at left-back with James Husband and Calum Macdonald, while Marc Bola is currently on loan from Middlesbrough.
