Both enjoyed a rare start in Blackpool’s last outing, the 3-0 Papa John’s Trophy win over Leeds United’s Under-21s.

Kemp combined superbly with Lubala to score his first goal for the club and the 21-year-old said: “We’re both working hard. When you get an opportunity to play, especially for me, you want to go out and show that I’m ready, and that I can perform and work hard for the team. Hopefully I did that.

Despite being left-footed, Kemp has predominantly been used from the right and added: “It’s important as a modern-day player.

“I can play on the right, on the left and as a number 10, but I do enjoy coming in from the right on my left foot. That’s what I like to do.

“I enjoy taking set-pieces, it’s something I’ve done right through my career.
