That’s according to Luke Garbutt who scored the opener in Saturday’s 3-0 rout of Northampton Town.

The victory leaves Pool needing one point from their last two fixtures, at home to Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday before hosting Bristol Rovers on Sunday.

“We’ll be fully confident going into the Doncaster game that we can get the job done,” Garbutt said.

“Our form at Bloomfield Road has been relatively good, especially since the turn of the year.

“We had a little wobble with the back-to-back defeats, but during those games I think, in general, we played quite well. It was just the lack of quality in the final third which undid us.

“We’ve put it to bed with back-to-back wins, so we can go into Tuesday night feeling fully confident and hopefully have that momentum potentially going into the play-offs.”

Garbutt was in fine form at Sixfields, netting his fourth of the season.

The 27-year-old, who has been playing further up the pitch at wing-back in the last two games, also had three other good chances.

One of those opportunities ended with Jerry Yates netting, the striker scoring twice to make it 22 goals for the season.

“It’s nice to get on the scoresheet and contribute, and it was a really professional performance from the team,” Garbutt added.

“It didn’t look pretty at times but we got the job done in the end.

“As a team, we knew it was a dry, bobbly pitch but we needed to start well which I didn’t think we did really.

“The goal settled us down a little bit and we created a couple of chances just after I scored. I think Jerry had one where he was clean through on goal.

“All in all, to come to a place like this where they needed to win to stay up, score three goals and keep a clean sheet, we thoroughly deserved the three points.”
