After being an unused substitute in New Zealand's defeat to Mexico on Saturday, the 19-year-old came off the bench at half time in Washington D.C.

However, he was later substituted himself in the 75th minute.

Monty Patterson's equaliser for New Zealand in the second half cancelled out Julian Green's first-half effort for the US.

It was the first time the 88th-ranked All Whites had managed to draw with the 22nd-ranked US - their two previous games in 1999 and 2003 ended in 2-1 losses.

Cameron, who qualifies for New Zealand through his Kiwi-born mother, made his debut for the country last year in a 1-0 win against Oman.

However, his first international appearance came at a cost as he suffered what could have been a career-threatening knee injury.

Cameron had made a bright start to his international career, sparking the attack which led to Chris Wood's only goal against Oman, before rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament.

Cameron is back to full fitness, though his only two Blackpool appearances so far this season have come in cup games.
